Anthony Butcher: Let us look at some options which exist to settle this matter.
Nigel could complain to the Press Complaints Commission. Should the ST allegations be untrue, an apology would be published. We are not talking about the ST's opinion about Farage, but very specific allegations. (This option would be free of charge)
The police could be informed, both by Farage and his son, as separate complaints. Was public money diverted, for the son's advantage, without
lawful authority. This would be a criminal investigation, again, free of charge.
A letter of complaint to the ST's, insisting that the story was wholly unfounded. This could also provoke an apology from the ST and an admission that they were in error.
Should the story not have, 'a grain of truth', with confidence Farage could see a lawyer. There would have to be a settlement prior to any court action.
Again, UKIP is being harmed by those who should be the Party's natural custodians. It is time that the Party's financial accounts were minutely
inspected by an independent authority. We are being destroyed from within.
