As the UKIP branch chairman for Harlow, and knowing that IWR had declared itself 'cross Party', I made preparations to be involved in the campaign to promote the recent Harlow Referendum. (I had organised a very successful Parish referendum in the Harlow Constituency back in yr 2000 ?)
I attended the launch in Harlow on Feb 6th, only to be told that they did not want UKIP involved. They then proceeded to take politically correct pictures of Conservative activists complete with fat ladies and young children.
Having seen their posters and leaflets I realised that they would struggle to get a respectable result, so I decided to write a letter to the local paper promoting the campaign, and then left them to it on their own. It is plain that they do not have much campaigning experience, and Ukip should be very wary of being involved in any other IWR activities.
