We have at least one million illegal immigrants in the UK (total population of the UK is 61 million) - and most of them are in England (population 51 million).
As we (the UK) are a member of the EU (something the UK never voted to join - no referendum was held before entry) we have to allow the nationals of 26 other EU nations (combined population 420 million) entry into the UK without a visa. Your country, the USA, does not have to (by law) let in the nationals of the 26 nations nearest to you geographically.
