If a certain subject interests somebody and they seriously study this topic (not just one book but many with differing opinions), then it is quite possible for that person to become an expert in that particular subject, therefore educated.

Educated does not only mean a person has school or university qualifications, it also means having a good level of knowledge.
Yes, absolutely agree with you on this. You mentioned the importance of getting the differing viewpoints in and synthesising this, but some folk need teachers for this as it is very difficult to educate yourself on certain subjects without them. I have experience in several methods of education from a student's point of view as I had a very unusual life circumstance that forced me to have to go roads others didn't need to travel.

So I understand your opinion and agree and agree also some place else on this forum where you applauded the efforts of single mothers to keep the kids and still educate themselves. A1 people, these. Deserve meddles. It's easy to go to university when there is money at home, when there is a home, when you're supported and accepted and have some sort of safety net, but when you decide to go it alone and on a wing and a prayer and you end up alone, with really hard work to get through, and all the other problems of life to attend your university existence, then you really do need to be applauded for trying and especially so if you manage to succeed.

Give all those girls a wave from me.
