Hi Yorkshireman - my story is pretty much the same and good to see that other posts on this particular thread have been positive. Joined UKIP in 2006 but can't help feeling that they just aren't going anywhere. Their website changes at a rate undetectable even to a Gatso camera on speed, and they seem to be beset by almost as much sleaze, albeit at a much less serious level, as NuLab during one of its more virtuous periods. But what are the alternatives to a one party state that has the combined support of 80% of the electorate? The EngDems? The BNP? The former couldn't command enough support to run a Parish Council, the latter might have popular appeal but will only flourish whilst in opposition, just like their oppos the LibDems. To be honest, I think we are a bit like a sailing boat in the wake of the Titanic - our only hope is icebergs ahead. All we can hope for is that all anti-EU factions will bury their differences, join ranks and force a referendum before the Lisbon Treaty is ratified, possibly less than 2 months from now - after which it will be too late.
