Why does it matter what his personal beliefs are?

The fact that someone was a Christian would not make me, and atheist, not vote for them. It would make my stomach churn to believe there are those who would not vote for an atheist because of their own person private belief.

We elect people because we agree with their policies, not because they believe in the tooth fairy.

I would vote for a libertarian if they were Christian, Muslim, atheist, Jewish, black, white, asian, gay, straight, female, male or any other such thing. Their political ideology is what is important. Saying that, I would not vote for Clegg because of his ideology. I would vote for Ron Paul though, even though we disagree on the God issue, because it does not matter one bit.
