Default Radical Islam in NL: A snapshot.

There is an English language newspaper in the Netherlands called 'The Times'. I picked up a copy in Rotterdam yesterday, and it is interesting to note a thread that runs throughout the paper:

Page 1. "Increase of Ultra-Conservative Salafist Muslims". This highlights the growing attraction of radical Islam to young Muslims in the Netherlands.

Page 2. "No Tsunami of Muslims in the Netherlands". This one says that the "far-right" is over emphasising the problems of radical Islam. (A tad odd given the front page headline, but if there is one thing worse than a suicide bomber it is, apparently, a 'far-right' politician!)

Page 3. "Sint Maarten serves as conduit of terrorist funds". This discusses government concerns about the Dutch Antilles island of Sint Maarten being used to channel funds to al-Qaeda.

Also on Page 3, there is an article about Hirsi Ali, the Dutch MP who received death threats following her criticism of radical Islam.

Pages 4 & 5 are a bit lighter, then:

Page 6. "Mega Mosque Controversy".... This one involves violent demonstrations, etc., and vague suggestion that the same Sheik that is funding this from the UAE might be implicated with funding the Taliban.

I think you get the picture by now. Doesn't look too rosy, does it?
