The IPCC may be right up to a point - there is some evidence to suggest 'global warming' and some part of this is probably linked to CO2 produced by burning fossil fuels and cutting down rain forest - exactly how much is far from certain.

In the absence of certain knowledge about this, policy driven by rigid CO2 targets is unwise as it will harm the economy, and make us less able to cope with a changing climate.

Regardless of the CO2 debate there are good arguments for starting to cut back on burning fossil fuels, as this is a particularly wasteful use of a valuable resource for the future.
