It will never happen! Man is the only animal who realises that one day he will die! He may through luck and modern science delay that fateful day, but it will happen and he knows it! From the day mankind knew that he was a mortal being, he has searched for a Superior being to look up to. Mankind can never get a handle (me included) on the fact that life as we know it is all there is! The fact is, nobody on Earth whatever their religion can prove beyond any shadow of doubt that there is a God or an afterlife!
Everything is down "Faith"! We will only prove or disprove it when we die.
If there is an afterlife we'll know it, if there isn't we won't!
What I do know is that if all mankind followed the "Ten Commandments" the World would be a better place!
