Salmond, Scottish so-called Nationalists, 2012 Olympics
There is nil chance of Salmond's request being accepted. If the International Olympic Committee said Scotland could have its own team at the 2012 Olympics in London (i.e. a team separate from the rest of the UK), the committee would then be approached by representatives of the 'regions' of Bavaria (Germany), Corsica (France), Sicily (Italy), Basque area (Spain), Quebec (Canada) Kurdistan (Turkey/Iraq) and many other places - all demanding to send their own teams to the Olympics.
The europhile Salmond (leader of the Scottish so-called Nationalists) knows full well that his request for Scotland to have its own team at the Olympics 2012 will be thrown out.
As he hopefully will be too from his job as Scottish First Minister - preferably sooner rather than later.
