Just out of interest, what's so bad about promoting homosexuality in schools? I'm not suggesting that teachers instruct kids to try homosexual acts to each other, or use the disturbing books that Derek C complained about. Promoting understanding that not all people are naturally "straight" is not a bad thing surely? |
I think the point is that there should be no bias either way. Firstly kids need to be allowed to be kids, secondly they should not be bombarded with different messages when they are discovering themselves, thirdly i don't think it is necessary as most young people i know are not bothered or prejudiced at all about other peoples sexuality.
It is yet another attempt to force social change. Society cannot be pushed and will naturally adapt over time; any attempt to force tolerance is doomed ot fail and simply imposes yet more red tape and causes more problems than it solves.
