"There is a serious issue here about the fact that some constituents' correspondence to MPs is being released by, for instance, local authorities - despite the 'protections' which supposedly exist under the Data Protection Act. If people can't go to their MP and guarantee that their problems will be kept confidential, the whole principle of what MPs are actually for goes out the window.

In politics generally we need to step back from the discussion which takes place about our governance exclusively through the lens of the media and entertain the idea that all our MPs are not arrogant and out to be above the law but have serious issues to contend with."
