I would say it is not necessarily the Muslim faith that leads them to cheat, rather the system they came from. Most Pakistanis live with the idea that cheating, especially in elections, is part of life, whether they agree or not. It goes on even today in the whole area of public life in Pakistan. Until they are able to recognise free and fair elections for what they are - the democratic process - we will continue to have this happen.

Another problem is that in the South Asian "community", so-called leaders can exert considerable mental control over supporters. It was not long after the emancipation of women in this country that men, mainly Labour voters, would say to their wives "Now I'll know how you voted!". This is the same in the Asian culture and mentality, but spread across families.
