I'll try to find out what the demo was about - a lady I know in the area is UKIP (having ditched the Conservatives years ago) and she is 'on top of' all local news :shock:

The only 'big' issue I can think of affecting the Liberal Dims in that area is the proposal (backed, I think, by Prescott when he had the power) to build the new Brighton-Hove Albion football stadium on land which comes under the local authority in the picturesque town of Lewes. Maybe Lewes is controlled by the Liberal Dims - it presently still has a Liberal 'Democrat' MP (thankfully, the only one in that part of the world).
