The amusing thing is that they are going to take on Con/Lab/LibDem/UKIP and the BNP. My Mr Buxton is going to be busy.
Edward, you are right - the Popular Alliance is on 'offshoot' of the almost defunct Veritas (itself a Kilroy-led breakaway from UKIP).

The two main figures 'behind the Popular Alliance are based at Burton-on-Trent and at Harlow. The chap at Harlow (Bennett I think his name is) is the former assistant to Kilroy (after Kilroy got his seat in Brussels) if I'm not mistaken. Mr. Buxton is the Popular Alliance man in Burton (I think) and was Veritas candidate at the last General Election (in Burton).

As far as I am aware the Popular Alliance has failed to contest any election. There was recently a local By-Election in East Staffordshire (Burton) but the party, although being based in the town, did not contest the seat (retained by Labour). There is another By-Election later this week in the East Staffordshire District (for Uttoxeter Town Council) and, although UKIP are standing 8) , the Popular Alliance have done another no show  .
