The Bromley launch of Farage’s leadership bid enabled him to publish his name in the party by spending around £100,000 to get less votes (2347) than I got (2736) at the General Election (only UKIP SW gave me a less generous £0).

Oh great, he thinks that in a by-election people are going to vote based on campaigns on the 'EU police state' and 'Common Purpose', which completely ignore every issue that the average voter perceives to be important.
Doesn't he realise the two aren't comparable?
Other parties were allowed to spend up to £100k in Bromley.
Bromley is a less promising seat.
Lower turnout at by-elections.
Bromley was a tight race between Conservatives and Lib Dems
Etc etc.
His substantive point may be right but there's no need for his gross statistical distortion.
