I do not hob-nob with David socially, and we do not exchange Christmas cards.

Any contact with him has been restricted to UKIP business, and he has been, in the past, entitled to my email as a party official.

Where I have corresponded with him, by phone or email, in the past, it has equally been on party business (e.g. offering £3K for address --> postcode s/w)

Mailshotting me with a "Vote Nigel" spiel is definitely NOT party business.

My complaint stands, I'm afraid...

The existing leadership group, which includes Nigel Farage, David Cambell Bannerman and David Lott have abused and are still abusing their offices within the party to ensure they get a more than equal hearing for the existing leadership in this election.

This is just the latest in a series of abuses of their positions.

I agree with every point Robert McWhirter makes below. We who are not yet in the leadership cannot use membership lists, but it appears exisitng leaders can do so with impunity.

David Noakes.

Dear Geoffrey,

I have this evening, Monday, 7th August, received a mailshot from
David Lott urging me to vote Nigel. I am concerned on three fronts:

1. This contravenes the principle that pulling material, i.e.
choosing to visit a candidacy website, is acceptable, but pushing,
i.e spam, is not.

2. As David has a long history of employment by the party, some of
the email addresses used may have been derived by virtue of his
position, and he may, therefore, have broken the Data Protection act.

3. As David Noakes clearly doesn't have access to the extensive
address-book contacts of the other candidates' supporters, this
disadvantages him above the others.

Would it be possible for you to obtain David's mail list, and make it
available on a one-off basis to a nominated supporter of each of the
other candidates?

Yours Sincerely.
