Default Governnment trying to transform Population says Labour MP

The UK has undergone the largest migration (people coming to the UK) since World War II, BBC 2 Television Newsnight said at 10.55 pm on 6.7.2006. Over 600, 000 people have come from eastern europe to the UK since eastern european nations entered the EU on 1.5.2006. One coachload of east europeans is arriving every week in Slough (on the edge of west London), BBC 2 Television Newsnight reported. Some of the new arrivals are sleeping on mattresses on people’s kitchen floors. Of the Poles coming to the UK, 40% want to stay in the UK for two years or more. The deceitful europhile Blair Labour Government says only 4% of Poles intend to stay in the UK for over two years. One in three Poles have relatives here in the UK or want to bring in relatives.

The figure of 600, 000 east europeans (about double the 300, 000 or so that the Blair Government claims are now here) is reached because a third of Poles who do come to the UK are not registering on the Workers Registration Scheme (WRS). Government figures on the number of east europeans in the UK is based on who signs the WRS.

The Mayor of the Polish town of Wroclaw, Rafal Dutkiewicz, told Newsnight “We are worried at losing talented people. We can’t get investment if skilled workers leave.” Salaries in the UK for skilled workers are 17 times higher than in Poland. One in ten doctors and 25% of anaesthetists have left Poland since 1.5.2004 (the date on which Poland entered the EU) to find work elsewhere in europe. Many Polish are coming to the UK as a result of the Scottish Executive advertising campaign in Poland which appeals for Poles to come to Scotland. Many Poles are arriving in England as a result of the advertisements, but never actually get to Scotland.

Rowan Giertych, the Polish Education Minister, said “I was against Poland participating (i.e. joining) the EU. Now we have a brain drain. The UK picks up our talented workers.”

Eurosceptic Labour MP Frank Field was interviewed on BBC 2 Television Newsnight on 6.7.2006 and stated “The number of newcomers to the UK in 2004 was at record levels of 750, 000 – when 500, 000 people left the UK the same year. The Government is trying to transform the population of this country yet we haven’t had a debate.”

In response, Danny Sriskandarajah of the leftist, pro-immigration and europhile Institute for Public Policy Research, said “We should not talk of a city the size of Birmingham (needed to house the influx). The EU is trying to promote mobility. We should just take people to fill vacancies.”

Frank Field MP replied “This (influx) is bad news for this country. Jobs are not available for all home-grown doctors. 600, 000 is more than the number of houses we have built for low income people. This is a transformation of the like we have never seen before. Eleven EU nations refused to sign up to letting in east european immigrants. Only three nations opened up their labour markets including the UK. We aren’t prepared to continue this mass immigration unchecked. I’m not anti-foreigner or xenophobic. But we should have a Parliamentary debate.”
