UKIP policy should be that no immigrant or foreigner, whatever their circumstances, should be allowed a single benefit, including housing, for five years, when they can apply for citizenship. Everyone wishing to stay here, even asylumists, should work, and should have to get private health insurance. Is that fair? Yes. Would it be popular? Definitely.

I would agree with that apart from asylum seekers because our policy is :-
"We will maintain the honourable British tradition of offering political asylum for genuine refugees. "

We can not therefore say that if they can not get a job or a sick they should starve. Although we could (and should) say that before they get citizenship they must have paid more in taxes than they received in benefits.
