It makes sense to be an EU protest party trying to change the Tories if the Tories are in Government. With a Tory leadership which has the aim of reform in the EU, UKIP could bang on and on about what needs to change, and to bang on if reforms fail. That could work, if reforms fail.
Your present strategy is a personal vendetta by former Tories in UKIP, and all that does is let a pro-EU Labour Party stay in. There is no chance at all of change with them.
So, the only one which makes sense, is to be a full-blown party that seeks to get into Government within 20 years, or at least to be a sizeable opposition.
