My thinking is broadly similar. A couple of points :

1. Nuclear power at present accounts for about 20% of UK power. This is set to fall as the aging power stations are taken out of service and none new being built, nor even planned.

2. For various technical reasons, not more than about 15-20% of our power can come from sources that are variable e.g. wind, solar etc.

What concerns me is that there appears to me no cohesive policy to address that already exists and is growing.
