Why are they offensive? Are we supposed to wrap people up in cotton wool and pretend the past didn't happen?

Should we ban Latin because it comes from the Romans, who went round conquering foreign, and butchering and abusing domestic populations?

Should we rename all of the towns and areas where their names are derived from their roman ones? I didn't think so...
