I don't know about north wales but the welsh nationalists i have spoken to are all for a welsh assembly at any price.
I think the referendum for the assembly in wales was a very close thing and in fact i think cardiff voted no.
I understand that the last assembly election was a laughably small turn out and if you ask people in the street to name some A.M's as they call themselves they seem to need to think very hard to name more than two.
In answer to your second question John i should imagine the other parties in wales are all riding the same gravy train, A.M's pay themselves well it seems while they debate insignificant petty issues to no conclusion. Out in the real world a lot of anger seems to be directed at the assembly over the last series of council tax rises and rebanding of property which amounts to b****y extortion.
