True. There's idle chatter about impeachment for deceiving people over the threat Iraq posed, but he won't be going anywhere. The good thing (and this is just my point of view) is that if public support for Bush is still this low when elections come next year, there are going to be lots of Republicans in the Congress looking for new jobs. Some might start distancing themselves from Bush in order to save face which means he won't have as easy of a go doing every little thing he wanted.

A flip-flopping Dem? Shurely shome mishtake?
I swear to God I think you're the only English person I ever met either online or offline who speaks as though you have been on the far right of the Republican Party since your birth

It's getting nashty over there now.
No doubt. A GOP Congresswoman stood up and read a letter directed at Murtha the other day saying that cowards cut and run but Marines stay until victory, or something to that effect. I would say calling a guy who was in both Korea and Vietnam and was wounded in combat a coward is a bit nasty.

George W. Bush is no fool. He is staying put. Political enemies can carp on the sidelines as much as they want. They should save their breath to cool their porridge.
Again, I agree he's staying put. Of course I wish otherwise, but unless concrete proof is found he misled the public and Congress, he will finish out his term. The Democrats would be fools to save their breath. Only a few months ago, their party seemed hopelessly crippled. Republicans controlled everything. The Democrats are just trying to take advantage of unhappiness over the war. A growing majority think the war was a mistake, so the Democrats will loudly criticize the war too. It's just good public relations I guess. The Republicans did the same thing back in the 90's when Clinton was in office. They're the ones who claimed Clinton was just trying to distract the public from Monica Lewinsky when he ordered missiles fired INTO phpbb_Afghanistan and Sudan to relatiate for Nairobi and Dar-es-Salaam and many of the same Republicans who were staunch supporters of an Iraq invasion were vehemently opposed to operations in Kosovo. Politics as usual and thousands of people die.
