New asylum figures out today show a steady decrease in the number of applications to come to the UK.
Official statistics released by the Home Office reveal a 21% drop for the period April to June this year from the same period in 2004, and an 11% decrease compared with the first three months of this year.
Welcoming the figures, the immigration minister Tony McNulty said: "The figures published today show we are continuing to cut the number of asylum applications, now down by more than three-quarters, an enormous 76% since their peak in October 2002.

Cutting Asylum figures while excepting unlimited EU economic immigriation. Makes you proud to be British don't it. Not.

The Conservative immigration spokesman, Humfrey Malins, echoed: "This makes a mockery of the government's target to deport more failed asylum seekers than arrive. The number of failed asylum seekers who remain in the country continues to increase - what are the government going to do about it?

Mr Malins, the guy who smashed me to bit's in Woking has made a good statement here. Illegal Asylum seekers is the issue and the government have done NOTHING to address it.

Seperate figures published simulataneously by the Home Office relating to workers arriving from the EU accession countries showed that 55,000 people applied to the UK in the period April-June 2005 under the Worker Registration Scheme - the scheme which governs applicant workers from the eight mainly eastern European countries who joined the EU in May last year.

And that's just the accession countries. Mass immigration is alive and well.

Romania and Bulgaria aren't even in the EU yet!!!! When they do join, I think this gives us an idea of how many people will be pouring over then!
More housing problems. More water shortages. More polution. Lower wages. More congestion. Mafia taking advantage. More unemployment and a country that is nothing like the Britain we know.
