Tom, do you even know what a Nazi is ?

I've a pretty good idea, yes. Let's run down the checklist for the BNP and see if they match up.
1) Nazis are statist socialists
So are the BNP as EP Employee pointed out and as you agree. You only disagree about whether this is a good thing or not. Let's leave that disagreement aside for the mo and just note that BNP does have this similarity with the Nazis. In fairness, that's not enough on its own to make someone a Nazi - Harold Wilson was a statist socialist too!
2) Nazis have deep-seated prejudices against people because of their ethnic origin, religion, etc.
Like Dr Cruel said, so do the BNP. Admittedly the BNP haven't gassed anyone, but then again they haven't had the chance.
3) Nazis have a weird mystical view of their own destiny, the White Nordic people's destiny, and so on, which sometimes leads them to mess around with old Nordic versions of paganism.
So do many BNP types. This may not be true of you, but it is certainly true of some of your BNP mates. If you don't believe me, you haven't been spending enough time on Stormfront.org Look at those usernames: Odin's Eye? Mercian Valkyrie? Pu-leeese!
4) Nazis like to dress up in paramilitary uniforms, march around and beat people up.
The BNP don't wear uniforms, but this may be partly because political uniforms are illegal in the UK (they were banned in response to the Blackshirts in the 1930s). That didn't stop former BNP leader John Tyndall being photographed in a Nazi uniform, but hey, that was a long time ago. The BNP do march around but so do many other parties and they don't goosestep, which is to their credit. They do have a bit of a thing about beating people up though, as I've mentioned before. Think I'll have to award half a Nazi-point for this one.
5) Nazis believe in the fuerherprincip - unquestioning loyalty and obedience to the Leader.
I don't know how much this applies to the BNP. I do note from press reports that BNP Leader Nick Griffin has sole decision-making authority and that all other BNP officeholders are there in an advisory capacity only. If those reports are wrong, feel free to say so. On the other hand I have also heard that the leader is elected by the membership. I'm tempted to give the BNP another half a Nazi-point ...No, let's not be petty, I'll let them off on this one.
I make that 3.5 Nazi-points out of 5. So yes, I do know what Nazis are and I think the BNP leadership score quite highly on my Nazi-ometer.
I willl emphasis that just because I think the BNP is a Nazi party led by Nazis, that doesn't mean I think all its members and supporters are Nazi.
