The US and Britain have a very strong relationship, and for good reasons. Throughout history our countries have helped each other during times of crisis. We share the same language of course and the amount of Brits working in the state, and vice versa means our cultures and aims are very similiar in a lot of ways. Due to the history of Britains settling in the states, and being part of the British empire, both countries often call each other cousins.

America is a superpower, and that power needs keeping in check sometimes. Here is where Britain comes in very useful to the world, as the States does hold Britain in high regard and will listen to what we have to say.

Unfortunately we have the worst Prime Minister in living history at the moment, who thinks being a good friend means saying yes and doing whatever they want. Please don't hold that against the whole of Britain, as we hate Blair probably more than anyone! He would sell his own grandmother if he thought it would make him a bit more powerful in the world. For him the saying power corrupts seems like an understatement.

The Commonwealth is what the EU should have been. A number of countries, working to use their friendship to help trade and co-operation on a number of matters. It is largely based on the history of Britain having an empire, but instead of everyone leaving the empire on bad terms, Britain worked hard on keeping links with all those countries, which I believe creates a unique bond between Britain and the rest of the world.

I would need to know what areas you would like figures on to quote some!
