torynomore is just starting out
Default Torynomore from Cumbria

Hi, I have recently joined UKIP and am very pleased with it. I used to be a tory voter and in fact I used to be a tory councillor when I was only 22. I was too young and inexperienced for it really and I probably would not ever stand for any kind of office again. But since I now work as a civil servant I don't have the option anyway, as I am supposed to serve the government whatever its colours and not actively take part in politics. However I do love politics - or at least I used to when politics used to be exciting. In the days of Thatcherism versus Socialism, there used to be a cause you could believe in. In more recent politics, all main parties say and do much the same thing. Labour have stollen Conservative policies under Blair and left the tories with no clothes so to speak. For the first time in years, something exciting is happening in British politics. UKIP has a cause, something people can really get behind and ignite British politics again. Is this the end of the tory party then? - to be replaced by UKIP perhaps? who knows! - but its exciting to watch
