I don't believe that I made any reference to the working classes or any other class. I was really just stating that people tend to stick with what they know. Lots of people vote Lib Dems because they always have, and perhaps their parents used to vote Liberal. I did for a while, for instance.
Lots of people vote Labour because they always have. Many people take very little interest in politics and have only the loosest awareness of changes that take place. The day to day humdrum of politics passes them by without any impact. This isn't a criticism, it is just that politicians don't excite people enough to cause interest. Many people still don't know who UKIP are, as amazing as that sounds.
